Connecting the Evolt 360 Body Scanner to the internet

How to connect/re-connect the Evolt 360 Body Scanner to the internet

New Kiosk

Before you start:
Have your Wi-Fi network name and password ready, or an Ethernet cable running from your router or wall port. If you plan to use Wi-Fi, make sure the USB Wi-Fi dongle is plugged into the unit.

Open the Control Panel:

  • From the home screen (the "Welcome to your Evolt 360 Scan" page), tap Control Panel in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  • The top right of the home screen also shows a live status word (ONLINE), which tells you at a glance whether the scanner currently has internet.

Open Network Setup:

  • On the Control Panel, tap the Network Setup tile (the Wi-Fi icon, labelled "Configure network connection"). It's the first of the six tiles.

  • The scanner will show a "Scanning..." message for a moment while it looks for nearby networks. This is normal.

Understand the Network Setup screen:

At the top you'll see three status cards. These are your at-a-glance health check:

  • Ethernet: Shows Connected (with a green tick) when a cable is plugged in and working, or Disconnected (red) when no cable is detected. When it's the active connection, it also reads "Primary connection."

  • Wi-Fi: Shows Enabled with an on/off toggle switch. When connected, it reads "Status: Connected to" followed by your network name.

  • Internet: Shows Online (with the scanner's IP address, such as 192.168.49.196) when the unit can reach the internet, or Offline (red) when it can't.

  • Below the cards is the Available Networks list, a Rescan button on the right to refresh that list, and a "Having Trouble Connecting? Restart Network Service" link for troubleshooting.

Connect to a Wi-Fi network:

  • In the Available Networks list, tap the name of the network you want to join.

  • A "Connect to Network" screen opens with an on-screen keyboard. Type the Wi-Fi password into the Enter network password field. (Tap the eye icon in the field if you want to check what you've typed.)

  • Tap Connect.

  • Once it connects, the Wi-Fi card updates to "Connected to" your network name, and the Internet card switches to Online with an IP address. That confirms the scanner is online.

Connect to a hidden or unlisted network:

  • If your network name doesn't appear in the list (some networks are set to stay hidden), you can add it by hand:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the Available Networks list and tap Other...

  • On the "Connect to Network" screen, type your network name into the Enter network SSID field.

  • Type the password into the Enter network password field. The security type (for example WPA2) is shown beneath the fields.

  • Tap Connect.

  • If a network shows in the list as "Hidden Network," tapping it takes you to the same screen but only asks for the password.

Connect with an Ethernet cable (wired):

  • For the most reliable connection, plug an Ethernet cable from your router or wall port into the back of the unit. No settings are needed. The Ethernet card changes from Disconnected to Connected on its own, and shows "Primary connection," meaning the scanner will use the wired connection as its main route to the internet.

Check a network's details (optional):

  • Tap the info (i) button next to any network to see its details in a small pop-up: the Frequency (such as 2.4 GHz), the Link Speed (such as 130 Mbit/s), and the Security type (such as WPA2). Tap the X to close it. This is handy for confirming signal quality or which band you're on.

Forget a network (optional):

  • To make the scanner stop connecting to a saved network, tap the red minus button next to it. A "Forget Network?" box appears warning that you'll need to re-enter the password to connect again. Tap Forget to confirm, or Cancel to keep it. This is useful when you change your Wi-Fi password or move the unit to a new location.

Confirming you're connected:

  • You're good to go when the Internet card reads Online with an IP address. You can also glance at the top right of the home screen, which shows ONLINE when the scanner has a working connection.

Previous Kiosk:

  • Access the Control Panel by pressing the Evolt logo on the top left corner of the Log In/ Sign up Screen
  • Tap on 'Network'
  • If you are connecting the scanner to Ethernet, the Ethernet section should show '100 connected' as long as the ethernet cord is plugged in to the port behind the screen and the port in your facility is actively running internet
  • If you are connecting via Wi-Fi, make sure that it is turned ON
  • Remove all profiles in case you are seeing unknown network connections showing up on the list
  • Tap on 'New Connection' then connect to the preferred network
  • Make sure that we are entering the correct password to your selected network

If uncertain about the password, attempt connecting to the Wi-Fi on another device such as a mobile phone or computer and manually input the password to verify its accuracy.

  • To confirm the Wi-Fi connection, ensure that it displays either '100 connected' and 'Online' in green at the bottom center of the screen.

Please note that the Evolt Scanner can still be used for scanning even if it is offline and not connected to the internet. However, it will not synchronize the scan results with the Evolt Active or Insights Dashboard until it is reconnected to the internet.
