Software Update
New Kiosk
Before you start
The scanner needs a working internet connection to download an update, so confirm it shows ONLINE first (see our guide on connecting the Evolt 360 to the internet). Because the unit will restart and can be out of action for around 15 to 20 minutes, run updates outside of busy times, not while a client is waiting for a scan. Have your Operator password ready.
Open the Control Panel
-
From the home screen (the "Welcome to your Evolt 360 Scan" page), tap Control Panel in the bottom left corner.
Open the Operator Panel
-
On the Control Panel, tap the Operator Panel tile (labelled "Advanced kiosk management"). This tile is marked PASSWORD REQUIRED, because it holds the more advanced settings.
Log in as Operator
-
The "Login as Operator" screen appears with your account email shown beneath the title. Using the on-screen keyboard, type your Operator password into the Enter your password field, then tap Login. (Tap the eye icon in the field if you want to check what you typed.)
Start the Software Update
-
You're now on the Operator Panel. Along the bottom of this screen are three buttons: Software Update, Logout Operator, and Shutdown. Tap Software Update.
Confirm the update
-
A box titled Update Software? appears with the message "This will download and install the latest software version. The kiosk will restart during the update." Tap Confirm to begin, or Cancel if you've changed your mind.
Let the update run
-
The scanner switches to a Software Update in Progress screen showing "Downloading and installing version..." with a progress bar. It also displays this important warning:
This may take around 15 to 20 minutes. The kiosk may restart several times during the update. Please do not interrupt the kiosk or power it off until this is finished.
-
Leave the unit alone while this runs. Do not switch it off at the wall, do not unplug it, and do not tap around on the screen. The restarts are a normal part of the process. There's a "Having trouble? Cancel update" link on this screen, but you should only use it if the update has clearly stalled.
The kiosk restarts on its own
-
Part way through, the screen may briefly show the underlying system (a dark desktop with the Evolt 360 logo) as the unit reboots. It then shows a Body Scanner Kiosk, System Starting, Initialising modules loading screen. This is the scanner bringing itself back up after installing the update. No action is needed from you.
Confirm the update finished
-
When it's done, the scanner returns to the normal home screen and shows ONLINE in the top right. That's your sign the update is complete and the unit is ready to scan again.
-
To double check which version is now installed, look at the code in the bottom right corner of the home screen (or on the startup screen). It updates to the new version number once the install has finished.
Reminders
-
Only run updates when the scanner is online and not in use.
-
Never power off or unplug the unit while an update is in progress, even if it restarts or the screen goes dark for a moment.
-
Expect the whole process to take up to around 15 to 20 minutes.
-
If the unit does not come back to the home screen after that time, that's when to reach out for support.
Previous Kiosk
- Tap the Evolt logo located in the top left corner of the screen to access the control panel.
- Ensure that the machine is connected to the internet and displays a green 'Online' sign at the bottom middle section of the screen.
- After successfully connecting to the internet, proceed by selecting the 'software update' button to kickstart the update process.
The software update process will begin automatically. It typically takes around 3-4 minutes, depending on the internet speed of the connected network. Please allow the machine 2-3 minutes for the screen transition before proceeding to operate the machine once the new scanning screen is displayed.
